What exactly is Focus Nutrition Coaching?

It's the difference between trying another diet and finally getting results that last.

Focus Nutrition Coaching isn't a meal plan you'll abandon in two weeks. It's a proven system built around your goals, your life, and your preferences. It's designed to improve your body composition, energy, and performance without the guesswork or burnout.

Private Coaching clients receive a fully personalized nutrition strategy, weekly check-ins with our registered dietitian, real-time progress tracking, and hands-on habit coaching that fits your schedule. You're not following a template; you're building a sustainable plan that works for you.

Nutrition Community members gain exclusive access to our performance nutritionist, a complete library of strategies and resources, and ongoing support to transform how you eat, without the cookie-cutter approach.

No fads. No restriction. Just real food, real results, and real accountability.

Learn More

Is coaching in-person or virtual?

All coaching, both Private and Group, is delivered virtually via video, so you can get expert guidance from anywhere without the commute.

Whether you're home, traveling, or squeezing in a session during lunch, you get the same personalized attention and accountability as in-person coaching, with far more flexibility.

Video sessions offer the flexibility to work with our Registered Dietitian on your terms.

Schedule a Consultation

Do you give me a meal plan or teach me how to eat?

Both. We provide a structured starter plan (sample meals, portions, grocery list) and teach flexible skills like how to build plates, estimate portions when dining out, and adjust macros, so you're not dependent on a fixed menu.

Get Started

How often will we meet, and what's the difference between Private vs. Group Coaching?

We offer two flexible formats. Choose one, switch anytime, or even do both simultaneously.

Private (1:1) Coaching gives you personalized guidance and direct access to your coach, with goals and action steps tailored to your progress and schedule.

Group Coaching brings coach-led structure, accountability, and peer support as you learn alongside others.

Compare Options

Can you work with my dietary preferences or restrictions (vegan, gluten-free, halal, etc.)?

Absolutely. We adapt your plan to your culture, ethics, allergies, and preferences, and provide equivalent protein and micronutrient strategies to keep your nutrition complete.

I'm busy. How much cooking is required?

We meet you where you are. You'll get "good-better-best" options (cook-at-home, semi-prep, or grab-and-go) plus quick recipes, supermarket shortcuts, and restaurant guidelines for hectic weeks.

Learn About Flexible Options

Do I need to track calories or macros?

Only if it serves you. Some clients love data; others prefer portion visuals and habit goals. We'll choose the simplest approach that still drives results, and we can switch methods over time.

What's the difference between a "nutrition coach" and working with our Registered Dietitian?

Your coaching is led by a Registered Dietitian (RD), not a generic coach. An RD's training includes an accredited degree in dietetics, 1,000+ hours of supervised practice, a national board exam, and ongoing continuing education (plus state licensure where applicable).

RDs can provide medical nutrition advice when appropriate (e.g., blood sugar, blood pressure, GI concerns, food allergies) and coordinate with your physician. "Standard" nutrition coach certifications vary widely and are not licenses to deliver clinical care. With us, you get habit-based coaching for performance and body composition, backed by evidence-based care from an RD.

Meet Our RD

How quickly will I see results?

Most clients feel better energy and appetite control within 2–3 weeks. Visible body-composition changes typically follow in 4–8+ weeks, depending on your starting point, consistency, training, sleep, and stress.

Start Your Transformation

Will I have to cut out my favorite foods or alcohol?

No. We coach sustainability, not perfection. You'll learn how to include favorites with smart guardrails (portion control, frequency, planning) so progress doesn't require an all-or-nothing mindset.

You don’t need a degree or prior experience to become a personal trainer. Most trainers begin with a high school diploma, then complete a personal training program or certification that covers anatomy, exercise science, and coaching fundamentals. And of course, you should have a passion for fitness and helping others!

What are the basic requirements to become a personal trainer?

Learn More

While personal training isn’t licensed in the U.S., employers trust accredited schools like FPTI to produce the industry’s most skilled trainers. FPTI graduates bring hands-on experience, advanced knowledge, and professional credibility that self-study programs can’t match.

Do I need a certification or a license to be a personal trainer?

Speak to Admissions

Depending on your training path, it can take a few weeks to several months. Comprehensive programs like FPTI’s Master Course (600 hours) take about 22 weeks full-time. Part-time or online options can be completed in 4–11 weeks.

All routes at FPTI prepare you for certification exams and real-world coaching.

How long does it take to become a certified personal trainer?

The best trainers combine hands-on education, mentorship, and certification. Choose a program that lets you practice with real clients and receive feedback from experienced instructors, so you’re confident and career-ready when you graduate.

What’s the best way to become a successful personal trainer?

Learn More

In-person education remains the gold standard for developing real coaching skills and confidence. Hands-on training gives you the experience employers value most.

If you prefer online learning, choose a program taught through a licensed and accredited school with live-online instruction and real-time feedback, like FPTI’s Elements Course. That way, you’ll still get professional-level training, not just self-study theory.

Can I become a personal trainer online?

Take the Next Step

It depends on the program. Expect anywhere from a few hundred dollars for basic certification to several thousand for accredited, hands-on education.

FPTI offers 0% interest payment plans, Federal Student Aid for those who qualify, Veterans educatoni benefits, and scholarships to make it accessible.

How much does it cost to become a personal trainer?
